The relationship between data, information, knowledge, and wisdom is often represented as a hierarchy or continuum, commonly known as the DIKW pyramid, renamed here to the Noetic Pyramid for increased fanciness. The 4 core elements are:

  1. Data: Raw facts and figures without context or interpretation.
  2. Information: Data that has been processed, organized, or given context.
  3. Knowledge: Information that has been internalized, understood, and can be applied.
  4. Wisdom: The ability to apply knowledge effectively, with insight and good judgment. (Is this really Wisdom or something more akin to action intelligence?)
